Back by popular demand, The Ghost Guild is thrilled to bring back our immersive walking tour format for this year’s presentation!

This year is extra special as we mark 10 YEARS of presenting Haunted Mordecai at Mordecai Historic Park! To celebrate a decade of sharing our research, we’re guiding you through the park to explore the history and mystery of several historic structures that make Mordecai so unique.

What to Expect:
Your experience starts with an introduction in the Visitor Center classroom before heading out to the locations where our data was collected. At each stop, Guild members will share firsthand experiences, findings, and evidence right in the exact spots where they were recorded.

This event is a featured part of the annual "Spellbound at Mordecai" event in partnership with Paper & Stars Studio and Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources. ​

Get ready for a unique, immersive experience on Saturday, October 25th! Due to the popular demand and success of last year's event, The Ghost Guild is excited to repeat their unique walking tour format for their annual Haunted Mordecai presentation.

Join us as we celebrate our 9th year as Mordecai Historic Park's paranormal research team. This year, the Guild will again guide small groups through the park's historic buildings. Your tour begins with a brief introduction in the visitor center classroom, and then you'll head to the very locations where our data was collected—including the Mordecai House, Andrew Johnson's Birthplace, and St. Mark's Chapel. A Novel Approach to History: Unveiling The Unseen

Join us for a unique two-hour lecture and presentation at the historic Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities.

This session is a captivating journey into the history of the paranormal, blending a historical lecture with personal experiences and unexplained encounters. We'll explore the roots of the Spiritualism Movement, take an inside look at the concepts and tools used by investigators, and share stories and data from our own case files.

Given the venue, we'll also offer a unique literary perspective, highlighting influential authors, infamous cursed books, and eerie tales of ghostwriting. Whether you're a skeptic, a believer, or simply curious, this event promises a thought-provoking mix of history, investigation, and literature. A Q&A session will follow the presentation, and a cash bar will be available for your convenience.

This presentation kicks off the month-long "Shadows & Spirits: A Writers’ Haunt" exhibit, which is a self-guided tour throughout the house and includes a vintage game night and two author events, culminating on November 1st with an open house.

Get ready for an immersive experience on Saturday, October 26th! Join The Ghost Guild in celebrating its 8th year as Mordecai Historic Park’s paranormal research team, and share in their excitement as they experiment with a new format for the annual Haunted Mordecai presentation.

Interest in the supernatural isn’t a recent phenomenon. We can chart its trajectory from the very beginnings of human existence. While we’d love to cover thousands of years worth of history, that presentation would have a much longer run-time. Instead, we’re focusing on the late 19th century. How did investigators of their day compare with our own today?

Methodologies have understandably changed under the constant flow of technological innovations. However, there are interesting overlaps that have carried over from the past. In this discussion, we’ll talk about the the various ways that our predecessors tried to understand the paranormal. We’ll then bring it up to the present day, elaborating on how groups like The Ghost Guild and the National Society of Paranormal Investigation and Research (NSPIR) conduct their own investigations.

For this presentation we got to do just that. The Rotary Club of West Raleigh graciously extended an invitation to present at their NC State University Club luncheon. It was a fantastic experience. Not only did we speak about things we’re so passionate about, but we got to meet genuine Rotarians equally passionate about their cause. As though that wasn’t enough, in a goodwill gesture, the club will be purchasing a book in our honor and placing it in a local school library.
