Lincoln Cultural Center
Lincolnton, North Carolina
The Classical Revival style building was built in 1922 and is listed on the National Register for Historic Places. The building previously served as the sanctuary for the First Baptist Church, but now serves as an event venue and home to a Guild of its own, the Lincoln Theatre Guild, in addition to the Arts Council of Lincoln County, and the Lincoln County Historical Association. Audiences visiting the Timken Performance Hall have adored their experience since 1991, while still appreciating the remaining church transept, its dome, and stained glass Rosette window that once awed church parishioners.
